The company decided to acquire business solution competency, and the decision was made to implement Microsoft Axapta. I led a team of three people to sit the eight exams required for Microsoft Gold Partner Certification.
However, I lost two team members, and I was left to carry on, and I completed seven out of eight exams for Axapta myself. As part of this, we installed the Axapta environment installing SQL Server and Axapta server. I also worked with a sister company called Matrix (based in Hillington) as part of this project. Matrix provided the web-based front-end Axapta solution to businesses. However, Shian was sold to the Chelford group after getting the business solution competency, who decided to pursue something other than the ERP arena. I was moved onto a Business Intelligence project with a Shian client – Stena.
This project exposed me to Axapta, and I enjoyed all disciplines, from installing and configuring the server to implementing solutions to satisfy business requirements using various modules.
