System outline, programming PLC and developing SCADA for fermentation process

B&R CP0411, WinCC OA. Year: 2021. Industry: Pharma. Challenges: pH control is crucial for fermentation, thus an upper level PID control had to be implemented. The entire process parameters was tracked to MySQL database via VB scripts.

Developing control strategy, programming PLC and developing HMI for pump testing facility. PLC / HMI: Omron CP1L, Weintek eMT Year: 2016 Industry: Oil and gas Challenges: As per hydraulics, differential pressure has to be controlled both by valve opening percentage and pump frequency. In order to achieve optimal control speed and accuracy, spilt-range PID was implemented inside PLC. Additionally, step-dependent receipt functionality was developed via Omron indirect addressing. This enabled smooth mode switchover (auto – manual) and choosing time for pressure to go up, to hold and to go down, according to facility needs.
Mitsubishi FX5U, Weintek MT
Developing unified control system for 5 types of industrial autoclaves from scratch. PLC / HMI: Mitsubishi FX5U, Weintek MT Year: 2017 Industry:Food & beverages. Challenges: since temperature depends not only on steam injection but also on steam pressure as well, a smart algorithm to hold both parameters within permissible ranges has been developed. Another task was writing standalone receipts handle functionality. This was achieved despite of limited PLC memory capabilities of FX5.
Siemens S7-1513, WinCC Professional
Programming PLC and SCADA for galvanic production line with rectifiers. PLC / HMI: Siemens S7-1513, WinCC Professional Year: 2020 Industry: Coating / chemistry Challenges: The entire line represents number of tanks and two manipulators that are due to travel and take and put metal parts from one to another positions. The most challenging task was to write an algorithm in a way that keeps the line working despite of inevitable collisions and to share tasks between manipulators dynamically. Each devise consisted of 6 frequency drives and 10 sensors and encoders.
Siemens S7-1511, Weintek eMT
Programming PLC and HMI for HOMAG KAL320 retrofit. PLC / HMI: Siemens S7-1511, Weintek eMT Year: 2019 Industry: Wood Challenges: An industrial PC that was used for controlling the machine has been damaged, and thus the entire automation system has to be replaced. The hardest task was to establish CAN communication with legacy servo drives without proper EDS file and to control motion in a way that guarantees very precise operation of pneumatics and servo drives (max tolerance 1mm alongside 9700 machine transporter length).
