Developed the web side of the platform: web applications grew from supporting tools into the main environment for editing, viewing and interacting with 3D scenes.
● Developing the platform's web applications for uploading, configuring, presenting and interacting with interactive 3D scenes.
● Designing the architecture, implementing and maintaining the content editor, 3D viewer and other subsystems.
● Taking tasks from discussions with the business and agreement on requirements through to interface design, implementation and ongoing support.
● Agreeing on the scope of work within technical and time constraints.
● Integrating new features with existing services and legacy modules developed by other engineers.
● At certain stages: supervising junior developers.
● Developed an internal web application for administering and editing interactive 3D scenes. The application became the main tool for adding content to the platform and remains in use. More than 15,000 projects have been created with it.
● Developed a visual scripting system for 3D scenes, similar to the Blueprints system in Unreal Engine.
● Developed an interactive 3D scene viewer that can be embedded in third-party websites through a JavaScript API. Resolved cross-browser compatibility issues. Isolated the UI with Shadow DOM and handled conflicts with elements on client websites.
● Developed an interactivity engine that lets users interact with a scene in real time according to the logic defined when the scene was created.
● Developed configurable scene lighting and background.
● Developed built-in tools for taking screenshots and recording video.
● Developed an augmented reality mode for smartphones and VR headsets, with corresponding controls.
● Optimization for low-powered devices, including smartphones and VR headsets.
● Developed multiplayer adapted to unstable internet connections, with guaranteed synchronization after connectivity is restored and interoperability across PCs, smartphones and VR headsets.
● Developed an offline mode that caches scenes for presentations without an internet connection.
● Developed a telemetry system for application errors encountered by users.
● Developed a service for importing 3D scenes in GLB format and automatically optimizing them, including for VR headsets. The solution lets clients use their existing 3D models in the platform, even if those models were not originally prepared for real-time viewing.
● Set up automated builds and deployment of web applications through GitHub Actions with self-hosted runners.
