Establishment of High Performance Section at Weizmann Institute

I established HPC Section at Weizmann Institute of Science which provides HPC services to about 1300 users from more than 150 research labs. Our infrastructure based on Infiniband network, IBM and Dell storage subsystems, HPC scheduler and various auxiliary ecosystem services. My role in this project was work with IBM, Dell, EMC, HPE and other companies to prepare system design, hire personnel, perform day to day section management and solve complex issues with different scientific applications.

The AWS WIS Platform

I initiated the idea of extending the High Performance Computing capabilities to external public clouds: AWS and Azure. We developed tight integration between AWS and WIS internal systems, like CRM, ESB, ERP in purpose to provide seamless as possible user experience in case of AWS workloads from WIS networks. Design and deployment including strict Information Security policies and tight integration with CSPM solution, AWS Organization, AWS Control Tower, etc. Scientific application runs using customized AWS Batch, Sagemaker and other solutions like S3, EC2, AWS Service Catalog.

Design and deployment of Artificial Intelligence Center Infra.

AI Center management contact me to assist with Infrastructure establishment of new AI center at Weizmann Institute of Science. This project which worth significant amount of money has been successfully deployed and serve these days hundreds of users running various AI simulation (both training and inference). Infrastructure based on top notch AI accelerators, ultra fast network, computation cluster and high performance storage subsystem.
