Key Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize KPN network infrastructure, ensuring 99.99% uptime and implementing robust security protocols across all business-critical applications.
- Architect and deploy Software-Defined Networking (SDN) solutions to enhance network flexibility, performance, and security posture enterprise-wide.
- Conduct comprehensive network monitoring using advanced security tools and SIEM solutions to detect and respond to potential security breaches in real-time.
- Lead incident response efforts, coordinate recovery procedures, and develop sophisticated preventive measures based on current threat intelligence.
- Drive continuous network optimization initiatives through performance analysis, proactive troubleshooting, and strategic enhancement planning.
- Maintain and administer security certificates for web portals and critical systems, ensuring proper PKI infrastructure implementation.
- Collaborate effectively with the System Engineering team, providing cross-training and serving as technical backup when required.
- Partner with the Chief Information Security Officer to implement organization-wide security policies aligned with industry frameworks and compliance standards.
- Evaluate emerging network technologies to enhance scalability, reliability, and threat protection capabilities while optimizing operational expenditure.
- Document comprehensive network architecture, security protocols, and disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity during critical incidents.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and collaborate on penetration testing initiatives to identify and remediate potential security weaknesses.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- HBO or WO degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in network engineering, with at least 2 years in security-focused roles.
- Current CCNA certification with demonstrated practical application of advanced networking concepts.
- Proven expertise with modern networking technologies including routing, switching, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN implementations.
- Hands-on experience implementing and managing security frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls.
- Proficiency in network troubleshooting methodologies, performance optimization techniques, and security hardening practices.
- Working knowledge of cloud networking principles (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and hybrid infrastructure security.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft systems administration (MCSE concepts) and directory services integration.
- Experience with enterprise-grade network monitoring tools and security information event management solutions.
- Strong analytical capabilities with demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively under pressure while managing concurrent projects.
