Senior SAP TM Consultant (Freight & Cost)

Our client is implementing advanced transport planning capabilities within their SAP TM system, with particular emphasis on transforming their freight cost management architecture.

The project encompasses:

- Redesigning multiple interfaces between SAP TM and service provider systems

- Developing a comprehensive freight cost calculation and verification framework

- Creating and maintaining provider-specific cost matrices based on diverse parameters (post number, weight, volume, distance)

- Implementing varied logistics calculation methodologies (approximately 50 different logics)

- Enabling automatic invoice verification and supporting internal P&L accounting processes

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze, design, and configure robust SAP Transportation Management solutions that address complex freight management requirements.

- Develop and optimize interfaces between SAP TM and multiple service provider systems to ensure seamless data exchange.

- Create sophisticated freight cost calculation matrices accommodating diverse provider logics (e.g., full truck load per relation, postcode freight weight, postcode volume).

- Configure and implement automatic invoice verification processes utilizing calculated freight rates.

- Provide expert consultation on SAP TM implementation best practices and customization approaches.

- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather detailed requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.

- Perform comprehensive system testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of configured solutions.

- Lead knowledge transfer sessions with client teams to ensure long-term solution sustainability.

Required Skills

- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on project experience implementing and configuring SAP Transportation Management modules.

- Extensive knowledge of SAP TM freight cost management, transportation planning, and charge calculation functions.

- Demonstrated experience developing and modifying interfaces between SAP TM and external systems.

- Strong understanding of logistics processes, international shipping, and freight cost structures.

- Experience with SAP TM version 9.6 or higher, including familiarity with S/4HANA TM 2022 or newer.

- Proficiency in SAP TM configuration, including Business Object Processing Framework (BOPF).

- Advanced expertise in SAP ERP integration with TM modules.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities for complex logistics scenarios.

- Strong project documentation skills and methodology adherence.

- Fluency in English with exceptional communication capabilities (written and verbal).
