About the Project

We're developing a comprehensive educational platform powered by Moodle LMS (Learning Management System) 4.2+, designed to deliver seamless online learning experiences. 

This platform facilitates course management, student-teacher interactions, content delivery, and assessment tools—all requiring thoughtful interface design that prioritizes user experience. 

Your designs will directly impact how thousands of learners and educators interact with digital education resources, making learning more accessible, engaging, and effective.

Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand educational needs and translate them into intuitive UX flows and UI designs for our Moodle-based learning platform.

- Create comprehensive wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that enhance the learning experience while adhering to pedagogical best practices.

- Design and maintain cohesive UI component libraries and design systems that ensure visual consistency across the platform.

- Develop responsive, adaptive designs that function flawlessly across desktops, tablets, and mobile devices with various screen sizes and resolutions.

- Implement inclusive design principles to ensure WCAG 2.2 AA compliance, making our platform accessible to users with diverse abilities and needs.

- Design engaging animations and interactive elements that enhance user engagement without compromising learning objectives or performance.

- Create compelling infographics and visual learning aids that transform complex educational concepts into easily digestible visual content.

- Conduct usability testing and incorporate data-driven feedback to continuously refine and improve the platform interface.

- Optimize the Moodle interface through custom theme development while working within system constraints.

- Document design decisions and create detailed specifications for frontend developers.

Required Skills & Experience

- 5+ years of professional experience in UI/UX design with demonstrable expertise in educational technology or LMS platforms.

- Profound understanding of Moodle architecture, theme customization capabilities, and UX patterns specific to learning management systems.

- Strong portfolio showcasing adaptive design solutions, particularly for educational or learning-focused applications.

- Expert proficiency with modern design tools including Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch for interface design and prototyping.

- Experience designing accessible interfaces that comply with WCAG guidelines and universal design principles.

- Demonstrated ability to create effective information architecture for complex learning environments with diverse content types.

- Working knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript) and how they impact design implementation in Moodle.

- Advanced skills in creating and animating graphical objects that enhance the learning experience without compromising performance.

- Experience with user research methodologies and applying research findings to evidence-based design decisions.

Nice to Have

- Previous experience designing custom Moodle themes, plugins, or other LMS customizations.

- Knowledge of learning experience design (LXD) principles and their application in digital environments.

- Familiarity with educational psychology concepts as they relate to interface design and information presentation.

- Experience with gamification elements and their thoughtful implementation in educational contexts.

- Understanding of data visualization techniques for presenting learning analytics effectively.

- Background in instructional design or educational content development.
